The
Big Band and its self-contained six piece combo,
The Beachcombers, cover a broad spectrum from
big band music of the 40's, 50's, & 60's to
contemporary tunes from artists like Whitney
Houston and Billy Joel.

Arrangements
Formed
in 1962, the Big Band, which has sixteen
instrumentalists and two vocalists, consists of
five saxophones, three
trombones, four trumpets, bass, guitar, piano,
and drums. The Big Band represents the
musical style of popular musicians like The Glenn Miller
Orchestra, Tommy & Jimmy Dorsey, Les &
Larry Elgart, Woody Herman, Count Basie, Duke
Ellington, Stan Kenton, Guy Lombardo, and Les
Brown.
The
group can also provide provide dinner or
background music and piano solos.
Venues
We
have played all through the
Chicagoland area, Northern Indiana, and
Southwestern Michigan. The group has played for
many festivals, fund-raisers, concerts,
pageants, country clubs, receptions, company
parties, and other private and public
gatherings. Members of the group have backed
such acts as George Gobel, Dick Haynes, and the
contestants for the Miss Indiana Pageant. Most
recently, the band has played aboard cruises to
the Caribbean, Alaska, and the Panama Canal.
